Is it hard for anyone else to get into 2pac’s music?

January 19th, 2010

TLC FO LIFE: RIP LEFTEYE asked:

I like a few songs from him, but i can never really get into him, and i could never see myself buying a whole album from him. But other people just praise him as one of the best, and i don’t really see what the big deal is about him. I respect his legacy, but i just couldn’t listen to his music everyday allday like some people? Are you like this too, or are you a 2pac fanatic?

I love him! I could listen to him everyday but I’m a huge fan

  5. j25 Says:

    nope!
His raps were true and from the soul not about all this money and h*es now. He rapped about his Momma, being from the West Coast, Street Life, s*X, Dead homies, How you can forgive a man, etc…. I can really get into that stuff. It’s relatable.
Plus, his beats and lyrics went hand-in-hand.

To me, 2pac is the greatest rapper/hip-hop artist who ever lived. His music was not only great, but it transcended the genre. If you can’t get into it, it’s no big deal. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I’ve been a huge 2pac fan since his days with Digital Underground, and All Eyez on Me is my favorite rap album ever made. So I may be a little biased. But there is no reason to feel bad about not being that into his music. I absolutely cannot stand Biggie, Jay-Z or 50 cent and people think I’m crazy. If anyone criticizes you for you opinion, just look at them and say, “To each their own”…then just walk away.

i dont like his songs. i just dont get the hype about him. he waz cute thogh ill give him that.

I feel you there. Don’t get me wrong 2pac is great, but don’t homie got any happiness in his life!? When I listen to him, you REALLY got to listen for the words and meanings. With other people you can just feel the beat and no whats going on.

  9. Shadow Face Says:

Lol only all the time! I’ve always thought that about him but I never considered him my favorite rapper, and I’m willing to fight anyone who tells me “u 4got pac” the next time I share my Top 5. I’m not saying he can’t rhyme or be deep or keep it gangsta(I even recognize it in what little material of his I’ve been exposed to). I could even see myself getting into him if I bought one of his albums just to listen, but right now he’s just not MY favorite.

  10. Antwuan Says:

Im with you on this man.

2pac is one of the greatest hip hop artist ever but he is not the greatest MC ever. There are many MC’s they are more skilled lyrically and have more mic skills than 2pac. His d!ckriding fans say he’s the best at everything. No 2pac is not the best at everything. I can name a list of rappers who are more lyrical and has more mic skills than 2pac. Don’t get me wrong 2pac is a great hip hop artist because of his “deep” and “meaningful” songs but he is not the best MC. His music just didn’t have the flash excitement of club music at all.

i listened to him everyday for like 3 years straight. Then i started listening to ya boy and some other people but when i go back to pac, you go like wohhh this guy a amazing,

    much love 4 pac, alwayz

i could listen to his songs all the time especially dear mama

i think it depends on how you relate to the songs cuz if you relate to it then you feel like oh yeah im not alone you know. like someone else feels like that too. i might not relate to some of his songs but i know friends that do and i respect that cuz i could understand them more and just be there for them. not all his songs are sad its just they’re really true and from the soul. like i said you can kinda relate to them

    -miss ya 2pac

*****for me he’s the best of the best ever lived. he’s a legend in rap, composing songs, he’s a great actor ,too, truly amazing in poetry…he was and still is my inspiration most especially in my darkest hours…his music is indeed a legacy…may he rest in peace…..

I’m the same as you. I can understand why people praise him so so much, he was a great rapper, but the thing is I rate other rappers on a par or higher then him like Nas. His legacy is so huge because he is the most known rapper, and he didnt only rap, but was a forefront for culture back then and he did make a huge impact.

I have a few of his songs, but I rarely play them, I’m playing Nas or Kanye more often out of the rappers I’ve got.

2pac was a motherf*cking genius. If you actually listened to his lyrics, not for rhyming capability, but out of his sheer uniqueness you would recognise that there is no rapper, or any music artist, or celebrity on par with 2pac. He predicted his own and Biggie’s deaths before they even happened. He made having love for your mother, and respect for your mother “cool”. He sparked people’s mind spiritually, he was a rebel, he rejected injustice, he was knowledgeable, he read books that altered his mentality, he thought outside of the box. He spoke about black truths, he supported the black community, he was so much more than every rapper or music artist I can presently think of. The guy could even act. He was always two steps ahead, and the best thing about this was that he incorporated it all into his music.

You should learn about him, he is deerly missed by a lot of people, even outside of hip hop.
